France selects 1st 15 projects as part of $1.55-billion Covid recovery package for space. 12 are mini-launchers

PARIS — The French government selected 12 micro-launcher projects, an upgrade of an old launch pad to accommodate mini-launchers and a proposed small-satellite orbital transfer vehicle in the first round of its France 2030 Covid recovery fund, whose 54-billion-euro ($54 billion) total includes 1.55 billion euros dedicated to innovative space projects.

The 15 winning projects will divide 64 million euros among them for this funding round.
