European space program Security Accreditation Board now has responsibility for almost all EU space efforts

PARIS — The European Union space program Security Accreditation Board (SAB) is confronting a substantial increase in its mandate as all EU space programs are now viewed as having a sizable security component.

Whereas once it was mainly concerned mainly with the Galileo positioning, navigation and timing satellite network’s Open Service and future government-restricted Public Regulated Service (PRS), the SAB as from 2021 is responsible for many other Galileo services.
