Cubesat builder GomSpace looks to European governments to pick up presumed temporary slack in commercial orders

PARIS — Smallsat manufacturer GomSpace has become much more reliant on the European Space Agency (ESA) for business with the industry-wide delays in new commercial constellations and the GomSpace-specific stresses related to its largest customer, Sky and Space Global.

The ripple effects of the liquidity crises at Australia- and Britain-based Sky and Space Global are visible throughout GomSpace’s financial results for the three months ending June 30:

— The company reduced its headcount by 35%, to 150 full-time employees.
