China’s Commsat pivots from satellite IoT to broadband with new government policy; factory to open in 2021

PARIS — China’s recent insertion of satellite broadband in its “New Infrastructure” plan has had the effect of placing three or four Chinese companies among those likely to bid for the assets of bankruptcy OneWeb Global Ltd.

It will not be known how serious these companies are about OneWeb until June 26, when final bids are due with a 10% deposit:

But China’s interest in satellite broadband goes far beyond the competition to pick up . . .
