A year after signing contracts, Indonesia’s 150-Gbps Satria broadband satellite still lacks Bpifrance, AIIB financing

PARIS — Debt financing from Bpifrance and the China-based Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) for Indonesia’s Satria broadband satellite project has still not been fully secured and likely will not be finalized before the end of this year, industry officials said.

More than a year after contracts were signed with Thales Alenia Space and SpaceX for the construction and launch of Satria, the two lead financial backers have not been able to complete their due diligence with Indonesian government authorities.
