Satellite IoT startup OQ Technology: $13M Series A in hand, Series B planned, betting on open 5G standards over proprietary tech

PARIS — The forest of aspiring satellite IoT constellations makes it difficult to assess who’s credible and who’s not. One rule of thumb: Follow the ITU filings for radio frequency, follow the fundraising and follow the launches.

Luxembourg- and UAE-based OQ Technology has recently cleared these milestones with a Series A financing of 13 million euros ($13 million). The financing, led by Saudi Aramco’s Wa’ed Ventures and Phaistos Investment Fund of Greece, follows a 2019 seed round of $1.5 million . . .
