Airbus’s space division rebounds with restructuring; CEO says space merger talks with Thales, Leonardo are progressing

LA PLATA, Maryland — Airbus said its Space division continued its turnaround in the first six months of the year, with revenue increasing 49%, to 1.34 billion euros ($1.57 billion) and improved profitability — a performance that Chief Executive Guillaume Faury said does not undermine the logic behind a proposed merger of the space divisions of Airbus, Leonardo and Thales Group.
