Yahsat reviews bids for 2 UAE government satellites, eyes $800M fund for radar observation, reports Thuraya 4 delay

PARIS — UAE-based satellite fleet operator Yahsat has issued bid requests to satellite manufacturers for two future satellites to be used mainly by the UAE government, a capex program of $600-$800 million that includes the satellites’ launch in 2026-27.

Yahsat is now asking the bidders for best and final offers before making a down selection of one or two and then discussing the cost and timing with UAE government officials, who will be expected to sign a 15-year capacity commitment.
