With Southwest Airlines’s OK, in-flight connectivity provider Global Eagle exiting Chapter 11 with 54% of its debt removed

PARIS — Maritime and in-flight connectivity and content provider Global Eagle Entertainment is coming out of bankruptcy by early 2021 after its Chapter 11 court approved the terms of the original offer to buy the company made by secured creditors in July.

To unsecured creditors and others who complained that the deal looked more like a restructuring than a sale, GEE financial advisor Greenhill & Co. Inc. answered: We left no stone unturned in our search for a buyer. None was found.
