With court ruling on Telebras-ViaSat deal, satellite broadband deployment resumes in Brazil

FARNBOROUGH, England — A Brazilian Supreme Court decision lifting an injunction on a Telebras-ViaSat contract to deploy satellite broadband throughout Brazil had the immediate effect of reconnecting four rural schools whose access had been shut down when the injunction took effect: https://bit.ly/2IFYBOr

At least two legal actions taking aim at different elements of the Telebras-ViaSat deal are ongoing, but the July 16 decision by the Federal Supreme Court will allow ViaSat to continue equipment deliveries for a program designed to provide satellite . . .
