LA PLATA, Maryland — The UK government’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) has signed a multi-year contract with existing managed-service provider NSSLGlobal to purchase Eutelsat OneWeb services for “diplomatic, defense, policing and disaster response,” FCDO and Eutelsat announced July 21.
The contract’s value and duration were not disclosed, but the deal appeals to allow NSSLGlobal to ratchet up or down its OneWeb capacity requirements as a function of FCDO demand.
FCDO said the OneWeb service will offer secure connectivity . . .
