PARIS —The Swedish Space Corp. (SSC) has secured a 12-year loan from the Nordic Investment Bank (NIB) to complete development of an orbital spaceport that SSC said will be ready for service in 2022.

The 12-million-euro loan is the latest piece in a financial package that since 2015 has totaled about 50 million euros, or $58 million at current exchange rates.

The transaction follows the Swedish government’s 2020 decision to proceed with an orbital-launch capability — become a subscriber!
