Satellite-AIS provider exactEarth evaluating ‘strategic alternatives’ including merger or sale

PARIS — Satellite-based maritime vessel tracking company exactEarth Ltd. is creating a special committee to evaluate options including a merger, sale or a financial transaction after reporting sharply lower revenue, profit and new orders in 2017.

The committee, which has no deadline for making a decision, is expected to hire a financial advisor in the coming weeks.

In a Jan. 25 conference call with investors, exactEarth Chief Executive Peter Mabson said the company continues to believe that its exactView RT, or Real Time, service using payloads abroad the Iridium . . .
