LA PLATA, Maryland — Planet Labs is opening a manufacturing plant in Germany to double production of the company’s new Pelican 30-cm-resolution, high-revisit satellites, which are now being produced in California.
In a Sept. 25 statement, Planet said it had committed capex “expected to exceed eight figures on the plant, which will add up to 70 employees to Planet Labs GmbH's existing German staff of 150 in Berlin.
