Omnispace adds S-band LEO satellites with Thales Alenia Space to its long-standing MEO satellite/terrestrial play

UPDATE June 18: Omnispace confirmed the signing of a contract with NanoAvionics for two M12P satellite buses, with payloads to be provided by Thales Alenia Space and Syrlinks, to launch in 2021.

PARIS — Omnispace LLC, which has spent years developing a satellite/terrestrial S-band mobile communications service using an aging satellite in MEO orbit, has now added a LEO play to its portfolio in a contract with Thales Alenia Space to build to small narrowband S-band satellites to launch in 2021 . . .
