Maxar warns customers that Covid-19-forced shutdowns in California may upset delivery schedule

PARIS — Satellite manufacturer Maxar Technologies has sent force majeure notices to some of its customers to protect it against legal claims resulting from late delivery of hardware.

The company’s move follows a decision by California state authorities to enforce stay-at-home restrictions to slow the spread of the Covid-19 virus.

The restrictions, which went into force on March 16, cover Santa Clara County, where Maxar’s Palo Alto and San Jose production facilities are located.
