PARIS — Terrestrial- and satellite-based IoT hardware and service provider Orbcomm said the 15-year expansion of its revenue-sharing agreement with mobile satellite services provider Inmarsat for IoT hardware and services is not a prelude to Inmarsat’s purchase of Orbcomm.

That probably needed saying, especially given the possible synergies that a merger could bring, and given that Inmarsat is well-equipped to go shopping at a time of depressed asset values and a $700 million cash payment from Ligado Networks: become a subscriber!
