Intelsat’s new OneWeb commitment – $35.7M per year to 2031 – will help Eutelsat’s case for $2B in export-credit funding

WASHINGTON — Intelsat’s new seven-year agreement to purchase capacity from Eutelsat’s OneWeb broadband constellation — a deal that includes incorporating Intelsat input into OneWeb’s Gen 2 — is evidence Eutelsat can use as it seeks $2 billion in loans from the British, French and Indian export-credit agencies (ECAs)

The first-generation OneWeb constellation of 648 satellites is in orbit, but the ground segment is still not complete following surprising delays in getting regulatory approval for several OneWeb gateway Earth stations in several nations, including India.
