Intelsat commits to accelerated C-band clearing, making it certain the FCC-managed process will move forward

PARIS — Satellite fleet operator Intelsat committed to joining the process to speed clearing of 300 MHz of U.S. C-band spectrum it now uses in return for the chance to earn up to $4.87 billion when the spectrum is auctioned to terrestrial 5G network operators.

Telesat of Canada, which stands to earn $344.4 million, also committed to taking part, leaving only Eutelsat and Embratel Star One left to formalize their decisions. Eutelsat stands to earn $507 million if it meets the FCC . . .
