Intelsat CEO gives his version of November 2019 FCC meeting that preceded sale of Intelsat stock by insiders

PARIS — Intelsat Chief Executive Stephen Spengler gave a detailed rebuttal to charges of securities fraud relating to a bloc sale of Intelsat stock just hours after a November 5, 2019, meeting between the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and representatives of Intelsat and SES.

Spengler, who is retiring once Intelsat exits Chapter 11 bankruptcy reorganization, provided a written account of that day in testimony to the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, which is handling the Intelsat bankruptcy.
