India’s Bharti Global puts another $500M into OneWeb, for 38.6% stake; Eutelsat, UK government, Softbank now at 19.3%

PARIS — Indian telco Bharti Global, which in 2020 joined with the British government to take the startup OneWeb broadband constellation company out of Chapter 11, is doubling down on its investment by exercising a call option to purchase another $500 million in OneWeb equity.

The new investment, to be completed late this year pending regulatory approval, brings to $2.4 billion the amount of equity that . . .
