Global Eagle gets $150 million from Searchlight Capital, changes CEO

PARIS — In-flight and maritime-connectivity and entertainment provider Global Eagle Entertainment (GEE) on March 8 said it had received a commitment of $150 million from private-equity investor Searchlight Capital Partners LP and would replace Chief Executive Jeff Leddy with connectivity division chief Joshua Marks.

Leddy will become GEE’s executive chairman.

The moves come at a period of upheaval in the satellite-connectivity sector as companies fight to retain financial equilibrium and shareholder support even as they invest large amounts of cash to secure market share among . . .
