LA PLATA, Maryland — The European Commission agreed to apply new pressure on Russia and Belarus to cease jamming and spoofing of satellite navigation signals while the Commission assesses anti-jamming techniques and alternatives to the current Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS).
The increase in jamming of US GPS and European Galileo navigation signals since Russia’s February 2022 invasion of Ukraine is well known. But it took a joint letter of seven EU nations to the Commission to push the issue higher on the Commission’s agenda . . .
