Franco-American axis: Loft Orbital buys 15+ modified Airbus OneWeb platforms weeks after LeoStella order

PARIS — Satellite “infrastructure as a service” provider Loft Orbital has contracted to purchase more than 15 satellite platforms from Airbus, using a modified version of the OneWeb Arrow product designed by Airbus Defence and Space in France, with serial production from Airbus OneWeb Satellites in Merritt Island, Florida.

Under the contract, the Airbus OneWeb platform now being produced for the OneWeb broadband satellite constellation — 394 in orbit, one of which failed, with 254 on the way to complete OneWeb’s first-generation system . . .
