For Ariane 6 development, final test firings on Oct. 23-24 and Nov. 23 will determine launch debut

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia — The Ariane 6 upper stage and main stage will undergo final test firings in what program managers hope are the last big technical hurdles before preparing for a mid-2024 launch.

The German Aerospace Center, DLR, and Ariane 6 prime contractor ArianeGroup are scheduled to conduct a test burn of the vehicle’s upper stage at DLR’s facility in Lampoldshausen, Germany, on Oct. 23-24.
