Eutelsat CEO: EU should deny market access to LEO constellations that violate debris/traffic management rules

PARIS — Eutelsat Chief Executive Eva Berneke said European regulators should force operators of satellite constellations in low Earth orbit to conform to space traffic management and debris-mitigation guidelines or be denied access to the European market.

Berneke suggested that pressure should also be put on the customers of these constellations, such as telcos, to adopt the same measures when selecting which orbital infrastructure they use.
