Europe’s biggest space players form partnership to bid on EU Iris2 network, posing a dilemma for EU Commission

RENSSELAER, New York — Europe’s biggest satellite fleet operators and manufacturers have agreed to form a partnership to bid on the European Commission’s Iris2 multi-orbit secure satellite constellation.

Fleet operators Airbus Defence and Space, Eutelsat, Hispasat, SES  and Thales Alenia Space will lead the consortium, backed by Deutsche Telekom, OHB, Orange, Hisdesat, Telespazio and Thales, the group announced May 2.
