European Space Law will impose obligations on space sustainabilty to anyone doing business in Europe

BRUSSELS — The European Commission’s proposed EU Space Law, to be presented to EU governments in March, will impose binding obligations on launch-service providers, satellite builders and fleet operators to mitigate the risk from orbital debris and in-space collisions.

The regulations will be imposed on any company selling satellites or space services in Europe. EU-based companies will be partly compensated for the costs they will incur in meeting the new standards, according to the Commission.

These are the intentions of the law . . .
