LA PLATA, Maryland — Eumetsat governments approved initial investment in a 20-satellite constellation of atmospheric-sounding satellites, with full program go-ahead expected in the coming weeks pending final administrative clearance in five of Eumetsat’s 30 national members.
Meeting July 1-2 at its Darmstadt, Germany, headquarters, Eumetsat’s ruling Council, which in December had agreed to move forward on the EPS-Sterna constellation, approved an Authorization to Proceed (ATP) to allow work to start on an EPS-Sterna ground station at the Svalbard Arctic station . . .
