EU Commission plays hard cop/soft cop on future UK role in Copernicus, other EU space programs

PARIS— The European Commission deployed a hard-cop, soft-cop tactic in describing a possible future collaboration with post-Brexit Britain on space programs.

First, the hard cop. EU Commissioner Thierry Breton, who oversees the Commission's defense and space programs, both growing, waived aside any future space program collaboration and appeared irritated that the question still comes up.

But it did come up during the June 22 briefing on the Commission’s new seven-year Financial Framework Partnership Agreement (FFPA) with the 22-nation . . .
