EchoStar limits damage from SpaceX Starlink; says S-band IoT messaging is just the start. Wideband is the goal

PARIS — EchoStar Corp.’s Hughes division in 2022 limited the damage to its consumer broadband business caused by a lack of new satellite capacity and by the arrival of competitor SpaceX Starlink by focusing on higher-paying consumers and corporate customers.

The company said its much-delayed Jupiter 3 satellite since November has held on to its planned launch date of between April and June, and that it would be in service just a few weeks after separation from its SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket.
