Delta forces contract concessions on Gogo as free-WiFi model stresses Ku-band capacity over North America

PARIS — Delta Air Lines, intent on moving toward a free-WiFi service in which it will control the customer relationship, and worried that Ku-band alone will not satisfy North American demand, has renegotiated its contract with in-flight-connectivity provider Gogo Inc. to accelerate the agreement’s expiration under a staggered schedule beginning in November and ending in July 2022.
