Canadian government sets new terms for its financial support of Telesat Lightspeed constellation

LA PLATA, Maryland — The Canadian government, after months of negotiations with satellite fleet operator Telesat about a long-term package to fund Telesat’s Lightspeed broadband constellation, has proposed a funding scheme whose terms have been reset since the two sides’ August 2021 term sheet, and whose final conditions are still not certain.
