LA PLATA, Maryland — “How do I know that the Chinese space controller is making the same set of decisions [on space traffic management] with similar enough information that we can, each in our separate way, make a decision based on data that is not interlinked?”

If the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Office of Space Commerce (OSC) succeeds in its mission, then this question, posed by OSC director Richard DalBello, will ultimately no longer be an issue.
