LA PLATA, Maryland — Satellite direct-to-device mobile communications provide AST SpaceMobile said the average cost of its satellites to be launched in 2025 and 2026 had increased by 10%, to $22 million, following launch-service price increases.
The company said its first Block 2 BlueBird satellite, whose phased-array antenna is more than double the size of its six satellites currently in orbit at 22 square meters, is now scheduled for launch in July aboard an Indian GSLV rocket. It had earlier been set for April or May.
