PARIS — Airlines and satellite in-flight-connectivity (IFC) providers agreed that seat-back screens are in no danger of being phased out in favor of passengers’ own devices, especially as airlines add features to their entertainment systems to lock in passenger engagement.

They also questioned whether a managed service like Airbus’s HBCplus, which delivers a new aircraft with an IFC antenna and a selection of satellite service providers, can keep up with the innovation now coursing through the industry.
