Airbus: French content is 50% of OneWeb satellite constellation, part of our $1.2-billion New Space investment

PARIS — Using an argument that may may be more than useful with France’s export-credit agency, Airbus Defence and Space, the prime contractor for the 900 OneWeb broadband internet satellites, said French contractors account for 50% of the OneWeb satellites’ content.

Airbus said its OneWeb role — a prototype factory built in Toulouse, France, to build the first 10 OneWeb satellites and the OneWeb Satellites joint venture that will build the remaining spacecraft in Florida — is part of an investment of 1 billion euros ($1.18 billion) in “New Space” ventures in recent . . .
