UK wants ESA to hold the line against EU encroachment. ESA responds: We’ll do what we can

PARIS — British government and industry officials sought reassurances from the European Space Agency that UK interests would not be sidelined by the European Commission’s increasing role in ESA programs.

They specifically cited what they said was a threat that the Commission would take an overly broad view of the EU’s “security interests” and exclude UK industry from space developments managed with ESA.
