LA PLATA, Maryland — The French labor union representing Airbus Defence and Space and Thales Alenia Space employees agreed that the two companies’ merger with Leonardo Space of Italy could allow them to reduce redundant R&D spending by government agencies but called for the companies to commit to zero forced layoffs.
