Kratos space business, after decline in 2024, reports growth in Q1 on national security work; looking at micro-GEO market

by Peter B. de Selding

LA PLATA, Maryland —Kratos Defense and Security Solutions’ space and satellites business rebounded modestly in the three months ending March 31  as government orders made up for the continued delays in the commercial market.

Kratos’s OpenSpace virtual ground station was designed to operate with software-defined satellites. The first commercial geostationary-orbit models are in production at Airbus Defence and Space and Thales Alenia Space.

Both companies have encountered delays, mean Kratos OneSpace customers have declined to take delivery of the product.
