$5B+ NRO contract: BlackSky may have, and Planet may have. But Maxar’s got its own

PARIS — The U.S. National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) gave three companies an enormous advantage in an increasingly competitive geospatial imagery market in awarding them what’s likely to be more than $5 billion in contracts over 10 years.

It will take a few weeks before a full picture of the contracts to Maxar Technologies, BlackSky Technology Inc. and Planet Labs Federal Inc. is clear. All three are publicly traded and, for contracts of this size, must disclose details to shareholders.
