Thaicom says government reprieve allows it to plan beyond 2021, pursue in-orbit refueling for Thaicom-5

LONDON — Satellite fleet operator Thaicom said the Thai government has agreed to a long-term public-private partnership (PPP) with the company, removing a threat to Thaicom’s existence and allowing the company to use a novel in-orbit refueling system for one or more Thaicom satellites.

In a statement coming a week after the Thai Cabinet’s Jan. 29 decision, Thaicom Chief Executive Anant Kaewruanvongs said his company remains open to discussion various PPP options with government officials.
